Crawlspace Repair- Bayfield, NB
Challenge
A homeowner in Bayfield, New Brunswick, recently reached out to Ridgeback Basement Systems for help with a problematic crawl space. Concerned by persistent moisture damage in their 15 x 15 basement area, they contacted us for an assessment and estimate. The downstairs was starting to affect the indoor environment, leading to not only structural concerns but also deteriorating air quality. Upon their call to our Customer Care Specialist, we promptly scheduled a home inspection. Our System Design Specialist visited their home with a commitment to identifying the issues effectively and formulating an accurate plan. Our findings indicated excess moisture and inadequate support for the crawl space structure, resulting in potential wood rot and increased utility bills for the homeowner.
Solution
To resolve these issues, we implemented a comprehensive moisture control and structural reinforcement plan. Our production team installed the high-efficiency SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control and minimize existing humidity potentially contributing to mold and foul odors. The CleanSpace liner was carefully applied to encapsulate the crawl space, acting as a durable vapor barrier against moisture seepage. To prevent future blockages and freezing in their drainage, the IceGuard system was incorporated into the newly fitted SuperSump setup. This not only channels water effectively away from the foundation but ensures reliability, especially during winter months. Finally, we addressed the structural integrity concerns using the SmartJack System. The outcome was a noticeably healthier and reinforced crawl space, offering the homeowner substantial peace of mind with reduced allergens and the assurance of a reliable, longer-lasting foundation. Their property is now better equipped to handle adverse weather conditions and enjoys improved energy efficiency.
