Basement Waterproofing- White Lakes, NS
Challenge
In White Lakes, Nova Scotia, a homeowner reached out to Ridgeback Basement Systems with concerns about persistent water seepage in their basement. Like many homes in the area, water intrusion threatened the integrity of their home and limited their use of the basement space. Once the homeowner contacted us, our Customer Care Specialist promptly arranged a home inspection. Our System Design Specialist performed a thorough evaluation, identifying that the water was entering through a crack in the foundation wall and pooling due to ineffective drainage. To resolve this, we prescribed a combination of our most reliable waterproofing solutions.
Solution
First, we applied the FlexiSpan® wall crack repair system to address the wall's crack. This step involved sealing the crack with a flexible material, overlaying it with porous foam, and sealing it with an impermeable membrane—ensuring water won't find its way in anymore. Next, we installed the WaterGuard® sub-floor perimeter drainage system. This system channels any water entering the basement directly to the sump pump, preventing puddles and moisture in the basement floor area. We upgraded the sump system to our robust TripleSafe™ sump pump, complete with a battery backup, safeguarding the home even during power outages. Alongside that, the IceGuard® system was put in place to prevent freezing issues in the sump's discharge line, effectively managing any water exit in colder months. The job was completed efficiently by one of our production teams, specifically trained to handle each aspect of the installation with precision and care. The result was not only a dry and usable basement for the homeowner but also peace of mind knowing their basement would remain protected against future water intrusion challenges.
