Foundation Repair- Springhill, NB
Challenge
In Springhill, NB, a concerned homeowner noticed significant water leakage through large cracks in their basement wall, a result of an addition built approximately 30 years ago. These cracks posed a considerable risk not only to the stability of the wall but also to the overall waterproofing of the basement. To address this pressing concern, the homeowner reached out to Ridgeback Basement Systems, seeking a durable and trustworthy solution.
Our process began when the homeowner contacted our Customer Care Specialist, who quickly scheduled a home inspection appointment. Following this, a qualified System Design Specialist from our sales team visited their home to conduct a thorough inspection. It was determined that the cracking wall was compromising the integrity of the property's foundation, allowing water to intrude and threaten the condition of the basement.
Solution
The solution required a two-pronged approach: stabilization and waterproofing. Our specially trained production team installed both the SmartJack and PowerBrace systems to stabilize and secure the foundation. The SmartJack System was specifically used to reinforce and lift the floor joists, addressing weak foundation soils by distributing the home’s weight more evenly. Meanwhile, the PowerBrace System effectively stabilized the foundation walls. These zinc-plated steel beams were custom-fit and securely anchored, poised to permanently support the wall and correct its alignment over time.
The result was a successfully remedied basement issue where the cracks were stabilized, and the leaking was halted, creating a safer and more reliable foundation for the future. The homeowner's confidence in their basement's security was restored, and the space returned to a dry, usable condition.
